Photo of the Week - Steve Ovett's Statue

What remains of Olympic gold-medallist, Steve Ovett's, statue in Preston Park. The statue was sawn off and stolen in the early hours of Sunday, 2nd September 2007. A few days later the right leg of the bronze statue was found in a fire next to the derelict Anston House building. The statue was commissioned by Brighton Council in the 1980s. The sculptor was made by Peter Webster, a local artist.
