An Improvised Lecture

Commentary

For all but the Classic Run cars arrive in the Drive via the western end of the road. On the Classic Run they enter from the east (see pic below) where they are welcomed and get parking directions.

The welcomes, given on the PA system, all strung together add up to an improvised lecture on the modern history of the motor car. The knowledge of the guy of the PA was undoubtedly encyclopaedic.

This run is a joint affair for both classic cars and kit and sports cars. The kit run, although on the same day, follows a different route. It first started in 2001.

Around 20,000 spectators turn up to see the event.
