The Red-Tinged Grey Squirrel

In August 06 a squirrel appeared in our garden and took up residence, somewhere between our apple tree and sycamores of the Patch. It is a distinctly red-tinged grey sqirrel. It's the first we've seen in a couple of years, and has so far evaded the cats which prowl the neighbourhood.

However, it has only just escaped the maws of some predator sometime past in its little life because it is missing its right, front paw. It has a stump where its paw should be.

The missing paw doesn't seem to affect its mobility and dexterity in any very obvious way. It moves very quickly through the trees and along the trellis.
