Sunday, 10th December 2006
On a cold Sunday afternoon in December several hundred
people of all ages turned out for the Winter Warmer at the Patch (William
Clarke Park) and a very successful event it was too. And what's more,
the rain held off until almost the end of the afternnoon's activities!
It was pretty cold though, and so it was good that there
were a lot of ways to keep warm - hot punch, hot tea and coffee and home
made cakes, a barbecue, and a burning brazier.

Kicked Off The Afternoon |
A long line up of musical performances also kept things
lively, though fingering the fretboard with cold hands must have been a
bit of a challenge. The performers did at least have a small covered stage
which reduced the windchill factor!
Jamjar Lantern Making Tent
On a dull and dark winter's day, as we approach the winter
solstice, the children had the chance to make jamjar lanterns to brighten
up the afternoon.
